thank you for the suggestion. I deleted
~/.config/emacs/eln-cache/
which unfortunately did not help.
Then I played with the variables
load-prefer-newer
package-recompile-all
native-comp-always-compile
tried out the package “compile-angel,” and even tried
(setq load-suffixes '(".so" ".el"))
the last of which led to emacs not starting up properly.
So all to no avail, I am afraid, and I am still stuck on my older
Guix generation with EXWM 0.34.
