One of the LilyPond contributors is writing a glossary with lots of
translations. This is his complaint:

        I meet get 'funny' hyphenations in the non-english terms and
        have tried to correct them with texinfo @hyphenation. It
        seems, however, that words inclosed within @hyphenation{} are
        simply ignored !! I have a work-around for it: discretionary
        hyphens (@-) but wonder why I can't use @hyphenation.

Does this ring any bells, or do I have to send a faulty example?
