Is EC2 the right choice? What about mod_rails?

We are interested in providing a platform where you just worry about
your application code, and we do the rest. We are constantly
evaluating the options on our side for providing the most robust,
scalable platform. We are working with Amazon to iron out the current
kinks, and we are collaborating with several other companies for our
cloud infrastructure. We look forward to being able to announce more
about this in the future.

As far as actual software choices in the stack, we are always
evaluating and trying to select the best options. If mod_rails, for
example, becomes a stable, viable choice for running Rails apps, we
will certainly adopt it. It is unlikely, however, that mod_rails by
itself will solve all of the problems we need to solve in order to
provide a smooth cloud deployment experience. Ultimately, we will
always be working to provide the smoothest stack, using the latest and
greatest options.

I should also note that while we're usually working with things long
before they are announced, we look forward to hearing from you about
emerging stack components that we might not be aware of - always happy
to hear about and evaluate new options.
