The short answer is Moop from the very fragile foam edges. In my taping, I won't be pre-taping the edges that will become hinges, as they will be taped by default when the beast is put together. __ __ __*\/*__
The top 6" tape will fill the notch, covering the exposed foam. The bottom tape could be 4", although the 6" gives a full three inches of tape/fiber on the foil. Since the sheets do crack somewhat easily, I suppose it's saner to just have 6" all the way around. -Keith / Oswego Here's a wondering, though...
