That should work fine if the tape is 6 in wide. I have found that running the tape 3-4 ft up the roof is plenty if you are taping to clean Al skin. Wrapping the tape around a piece of 6 in. PVC works extremely well for a way to tie in rope that goes to a stake.

I'm making a 6' stretch hexayurt and have 4 anchors, 2 on each of the 8' sides. I'd like to add an anchor on each end where the two 4' panels join, with the tape just extending up to the roof ridge, but not necessarily extending the full length of the ridge. Will that work?
