as it so happens, I live in Oklahoma City, which is right in the middle of
what is called tornado alley, called such because of the large number of
tornadoes that form in the area. IIRC, my house is located 1,254 feet above
sea level. Central Oklahoma in general is a place where two ecosystems meet
and transition -- east of Oklahoma City is known as the "Eastern
Crosstimbers", west of Oklahoma is the great plains. I live close to
downtown, which is definitely eastern Crosstimbers; I work 11 miles
northwest, which is definitely on the Great Plains. Most tornadoes form
southwest of Oklahoma City, and track to northeast. In 1999, a large F-5
tornado followed a track across southern OKC/suburban areas that destroyed
10,000 homes and killed 40+ people. Another tornado a couple years later
followed almost the same track but it wasn't as big nor as powerful so it
didn't destroy as many homes.

You're so welcome Vinay. I'm happy to share my abundance where I know
it will do good.
A quick question for you, if I may. I'm starting a project with some
folks to develop adhoc mesh netwoking backbones kept aloft by
aerostats. The company that I contacted that makes Mil Spec aerostats
requested some "mission specific" criteria, such as altitude above sea
level, etc. It is our goal to be as off-the-shelf as possible, but
aerostats aren't exactly off-the-shelf items.
In what regions do natural disasters hit most frequently, what is the
average altitude? Are they coastal, generally humid areas mainly? My
thought are that if we can target the most common environment, we can
generalize enough for aerostats to be deployed in most disaster
situations.
Thanks!

Hi guys,
Thank you for all the support. One of my friends advanced me some cash
from a future project budget, and at least one of those pesky invoices
is *definitely* moving again, so I think I'll be fine.
Spiral, thank you very much for your offer of support, and guys, thank
you for offering to send me some money by PayPal. I don't have a
paypal account, but one of my friends can receive paypals on my
behalf, so please be in touch if you've got a few spare bucks and want
to sponsor me to keep on doing what I'm doing.
Really glad to have a supportive community around me. Thank you.
