We are just getting to work on a Theme Camp project to make Burning Man more accessible to those on the more severe end of the Autism Spectrum, and I'd like to request a little help from the Hexayurt group.
One of the main features of the camp will be a sensory management zone where our autistic burners can go to decompress when things get to be too much. It will need to be dimly lit, quiet and cool - so obviously I need a hexayurt! I'm hoping that someone here can help us with design. I have helped build a couple of hexayurts in the past, and was thinking we might try a double-walled yurt for extra sound and heat protection - has anyone tried this before? We are also looking at a multi-room setup to allow for some personal sleeping areas with community room in the middle. If anyone is interested in helping out, with any of design, prep, set-up, etc. We'd love to have you.! The Camp will be called "Camp Shiny" And we are about 75% sure we can make it happen in 2015. You can find more information at campshiny.org if you are interested. Thanks in advance for the help!
