I think you mean 'UK paraffin is kerosene in the USA', yes?

And most English people are referring to jet fuel when they say 'kerosene', I think.

The 'liquid paraffin' problem is one that affects chromatic harmonica players too, as a famous German player recommends Parafinöl (the laxative) for lubricating slides.

I wonder if there might be a danger of the dye in meths colouring the wheel. Over here in Holland it's sold as 'spiritus' and colourless.
