Sasha,

It really helps to see someone cotton a string in person. I don't really count as nearby, as I'm mostly in NYC, sometimes in central NY state. But if no one closer comes to your aid, I'd be happy to give you some pointers.

Hi All,

I'm a composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who has recently
fallen for the hurdy gurdy.
I'm in central Connecticut, USA and I was wondering if anyone knew of
any hurdy gurdy players in my state, Connecticut, or in Massachusetts,
New York or Vermont that I could take a few lessons from.

I recently acquired a hurdy gurdy from Helmut Gotschy and it sounded
great and I was doing fine with it, until I tried recottoning.
I have the Muskett & Destrem books and a bunch of other website info
but still having problems with getting the cotton right and sounding as
good as it did before I attempted this. I think I need to see someone
do it. Please help.

Thanks so much,

Sasha Bogdanowitsch
