One more question: Is it possible to save to hard drive the video of Giles
and Patrick on French TV?

Thanks, this worked.

Another option for downloading:
 http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php

Same idea, enter the URL of the clip, and save as when prompted.

At this page you'll also find a Firefox extension that makes it even
easier.

There's also a link to a free download for an FLV player, the format
YouTube videos are in.

Or you can download VLC, a cross-platform multi format video player. It
has managed to play everything I've tried it on, and I know it works with
flv files. http://www.videolan.org

You can go to http://www.youtubex.com/ and enter the URL of the
video. It will then download it for you, but you will still need to
convert it to a more readily usable form. The Youtubex page gives
some suggestions of how to do it. I use isquint on the Macintosh to
handle conversions and it seems to do well. I don't know about Windows.

There are better ways to do this all automatically, but they cost
money, and if you only want a video here and there, using Youtubex is
a reasonable way to get the files.
