The problem in this case seems to be that the server in Spain is incredibly slow. I am sitting on a connection that should let me download a file that size in only a few minutes, but I was getting download times listed in excess of eight hours and gave up. So, no, it shouldn't take that long, but it isn't the fault of dial-up or broadband: it is a problem with the server on the other end. If someone already has the file and can post it somewhere else that supports a decent download speed, I think it would help those having trouble. As it is, the server in Spain is acting as though it is connected through an old 300 baud modem...

Even at the slowest broadband (DSL) of 500kbs 85mb should take 28 minutes
500kbs/sec is around 50k bytes per second
85mb = 85000 kbytes
Divide that by 50 you get 28.3 minutes

I just tried it, it took me 90 seconds
4 hours for 85mb equates to a download speed of 60kb/s
No broadband (DSL) is that slow

A couple of days ago I downloaded an 988mb file in 20 minutes

I don't understand why anyone struggles on with dial-up
Broadband is the same price or cheaper than dial-up with no call charges
And your phone line stays free

Thanks Colin,

I am on broadband and the download time takes 4 hours as it is 85MB. I hope it will work.

I used a link from the linked page (if you follow) - first the picture of men in white shirts (a band?) marked "Festival folk etc". Then on the page that opens, there are two zip files (both "concionero" in their titles). Alas my PC crashed overnight so I haven't downloaded them but, I presume,
one of them is what you want.

I am hoping the first one is the one we want (judging by the size). I'll try
the download tonight.
If anyone knows for certain, please post for us poor dial-ups.
Oh, I recommend the Midi files.

Hi everybody,

I checked all the links but most for them had books for sale, one linkt
couldn't find any of the files "*X:1 not found in
http://thesession.org/tunes/display/6961";, *the* *Galician link operates in 3 languages including English, but I could not find a download button. So
what am I missing? Which link allows downloading files?
