Violin pegs are too small for HG: they are too thin, and they are too short.

Cello pegs work, but they still have the concave surface on the grip, and the
grips are pretty large. A flat surface on each side with a slight taper is
better for the tourne-a-gauche to hold.

The violin peg is supported on both sides of the string winding. The HG peg
is only supported on one side, so the peg must be thicker to withstand the
tension.
