Hi !
the french railways are still OK, but not for a long time. You can find some
direct trains from Paris ("Austerlitz" station) to Montluçon (about 3h, about
40€).
Same idea from Montluçon to Lyon (from 3h to 6h !!! it depends of the
train..., about 40 €)
In Paris, have look at Andre BISSONET shop, near the Place des Vosges in the
"rue du pas de la mule" : a wide choice of exxxxxxxxxpensive old instruments,
many gurdies by Louvet & others...
in Montucon, ask the guys of the museum if someone can drive you to Jenzat
(ask for Benoit MAGER, he's Patrick BOUFFARD's piper, and works in the
Montluçon Museum). The "maison du luthier" is mainly closed in winter, but it
can be opened if you phone first.
Have a nice trip in France !

Subject: [HG] Fw: Help in France
Hello all,
On my way over to the baroque hurdy gurdy course in Switzerland I am
planning to see some things in France. I was planning to go to the Hurdy-Gurdy
and traditional instruments Museum in Montlucon. I was wondering what the
easiest (and cheapest) way to get from Paris to Montlucon would be, and how do
I get from Montlucon to Lyon? All help and any other suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.
Any suggestions as to the best places to experience HG in Paris?
Thankyou kindly,
Jane Ruckert
