Hi Diana - not sure what you consider a reasonable distance, but I live between
Cambridge and Newmarket which I reckon would take about an hour going on M25
and then straight up M11.

So, I'd be happy to help you out - I can give the gurdy a once over, show you
some tuning/set up stuff, but also give you some lessons!

Cheers and welcome to gurdy world..................
Mike

  Hello,

I have just joined the mailing list, as I have recently bought a Terry
Warrington hurdy-gurdy, and am very interested to be part of any information
sharing.

I have always loved the sound and the look of the instrument, and am really
excited to have finally become the owner of a hurdy-gurdy! However, I am a
novice at playing the instrument, and would really like some advice about where
to find someone who could teach me how to play. I do play the piano and organ,
and also sing, so I have a long musical background, but feel I need specialist
teaching to start me off on the hurdy-gurdy. I would also appreciate some
advice on the state of the instrument I have bought, and whether it needs any
work done on it. I also would appreciate guidance on tuning, as I have never
had to tune an instrument before!

I would really appreciate any advice and information re the above - I live
in SE London, so any teachers would have to be in reasonable distance of here.

Look forward to hearing back from anyone.

  With thanks.

  Diana (Stevenson)
