I need to replace the D petit bourdon drone on my D/G Phoenix. I notice that the Muskett book calls for a G cello string, approx 1.20 mm, and?I also notice that the current (broken) string is steel (or some other metal) wrapped. But I really don't know anything about cello strings, and it seems like some are quite expensive. What is a reasonably priced brand and type of cello string for this application?
