i would like as much information and as many personal experiences that any of
you have had with the synthetic wheels being used lately.

the first synthetic wheel I saw was that of an hungarian instrument somewhen in the late eighties. I remember that it was said to be standard for its maker.

Since 1999 I play an instrument with a wheel made from synthetic foam. Its maker makes all wheels from that material for something like the last ten years with many of his instruments under heavy duty usage. I myself use the instrument every day and under all conditions you might imagine. I never experienced any problems which I could trace back onto the material of the wheel. I think the steel axle looks more worn than the wheel :-)

kind regards,

Simon
