Hi Warrel,

are you perhaps using a Windows Network Place for accessing WebDAV? (NewFolder brought me on to this track). This might give you unexpected behaviour with folder names. The actual folder name will be NewFolder and the rename will only replace a WebDAV property for the displayname of the resource.

I'm personally using WebDAVPilot [1], which is an Eclipse plugin. There are several others available. I also think that Eclipse has buildin webdav support. Can't find the option right now though.

I hope that helps a bit.

Hi Jeroen,

I've double checked everything and I get the same problem. The only way I
can make any progress is by deleting the component.xml in theperspectives
folder. This gives me a NewFolder in the permissions view but that does not
allow me to hide the permissions view.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Revealed! Thanks Jeroen - that would explain things! I will do it using
one
of the recommended WebDAV clients (I don't use anything but Slide at the
moment so that will be worthwhile in itself) and I look forward to it
working.

Thanks for your quick response and very useful tip. Of course, it might
be
worth mentioning WebDAV in the HowTo, for others like me.
Warrel that sounds like a good plan. I'll add it right away!

Jeroen
