I don't think so but it doesn't hurt to upgrade.
Considering only some of the URLs in the database are absolute, can you
see a pattern, i.e. can you determine in which cases you get absolute
URLs, and in which cases relative ones? At the moment I can only guess
possible causes of your problem, so it would help if it would be
reproducible in some way.
