Hello Jasha,
Yes that is exact scenario, copying preview and not live. I expect CMS
editor to handle this situation better, so not only check for
publicationDate, but also for presence of document in live. Displaying
just based on publicationDate, is obviously not complete, signals that
document is published which isn't present in live at all. This kind of
issues is hard to debug, and if hippo would report this, e.g. just by
displaying document as not published, it would be enough to save a lot
of nerves.
Regards,
Stevo.

Subject: [HippoCMS-dev] Document status
Hello all,
Can any of the Hippo developers please take a look into Hippo
CMS editor code and check business logic which determines
whether document is published. A developer in my team, I
still have to investigate how, copied a set of documents from
one repository to the other. These copies were displayed as
published in Hippo CMS editor, but because not all
data/properties were copied various errors occurred when
document was retrieved from the application.
To resolve these issues it was enough just to republish the
documents in question - probably publishing would insert
missing data and document would become accessible. I presume
some sort of a fix, extra coding, should check more
thoroughly for presence of necessary data which distinguish
published from non-published documents, and provide user with
feedback in case that these data were not found.
Regards,
Stevo.
Hi Stevo,
A document is displayed in the editor as published when the
publicationDate property has been set. In normal circumstances this is
correct. However when you copy all preview documents including their
properties from one environment to another but not the live documents,
it's not. Then you should re-publish the documents (or remove the
publicationDate property).
