Assalamu "Alaikum.
Saya ada seorang lagi kawan. Dulu ugamanya Kristian Katholik dan
menceritakan kepada saya bagaimana dia memeluk Islam. Dragon_Pink
ialah nama samarannya. Sekarang dia memilih nama barunya sebagai
Maryam, tempat asalnya ialah Texas, USA.

well, to put it simply: because Allah told me to. I was a
lapsed Catholic for a long time. I tried many other religions,
i tried wicca and norse based paganism, then I realized that
polytheism is not for me. I can't wrap my brain around more
than one god. So I tried to go back to Catholicism, but i
could not accept that I had to worship Jesus as God. So i
tried Judaism, basically as I see it Christianity without
Jesus. It was working fine, except I was married to a gentile
and could not convert unless he converted also. Then my hubby
got interested in Islam, and I figured okay cool. I just stick
with what I have, which is wanting to be Jewish, but not being
able to so worshipping only one God was as close as i could come.
then last year on Dec 25, we went to the Masjid and got invited
to break fast with them. I sat and listened to many people talk
about islam, the muezzin (sp?) and Imam, and several women and
girls. somewhere along the way I felt that someone (I am quite
convinced it was Allah) was telling me "This _IS_ what you need.
This _IS_ what you have been looking for" I decide right then I
would become a Muslim, and started learning more about it.
That's basically it. the more I learn about Islam the more
convinced I am that I made the right decision. I hope this is
what you were looking for.
