I agree, although I have many games that I don't play anymore (old ones like Freespace), I still sometimes will come back to them. I just don't like paying subscriptions for a game. I'd probably just buy the whole thing play it for a bit, leave it and then pick it up again later.
Another concern with subscriptions is the amount you pay over the time that you play it.
