I caught Gabe's talk about STEAM at the GDC, and left feeling really
excited about the potential this might allow small independent game
developers to release a title without having to be worried about
being 'strong armed' by the traditional publishers into accepting less
than an acceptable deal just to get a title out there.

I still haven't researched all the nuances of STEAM, but it did sound
like not only an innovative technical feat, but also an innovative
business model as well.

Cool stuff.
