Well all the interviews with Valve people suggest that they aren't allowed
to discuss it although they certainly haven't denied that it's been
completely canned. I'm wondering if they're holding on until games like
UT2.3k are released as they potentially have the fanbase and ability to
overshadow a game like TF2 thus effecting the sales. We do know that Valve
want Tf2 to be one of the defining moments in game history like when TF was
originalyl developed.

Engine wise I'd assume that they're going for an iD based engine as they
obviously have a good relation wit hthe company.. and migth have a discount
for the cost of the engine as they previously used the Quake engines from iD
so much. :) And dare i say, HL2 might be delayed just to use the Doom3
uber-engine?!
