Halflife2.net isn't operated by valve. Gabe posted on our forums asking for
help in tracking down the source of the leak -

nice if you could could all help out there if possible :)

Sorry, Botman + Valve. I made a mistake.  I got the info from
Halflife2.net, isn't that owned and operated by Valve as well?  I just
figured that since every game forum in the world, including
halflife2.net has the info, it was ok to post it.
