First off, Natural Selection is the best mod I have ever played, so it would be a pain to lose it to steam, so... If there's a problem drawing text in the popup menus, easiest way around it is to not draw text - the frames for the text are still there, and displaying properly, so I'm assuming that you can still draw those on, so why not draw the text the same way? Instead of drawing characters, draw a picture of the characters. It might mean a few extra megs in the installer, but I hardly think any of us will complain :) Of course, that's just a short term measure, a quick fix, but it'll buy you more time to work with it, maybe even recieve help from Valve themselves, and we'll still be able to play in the meantime.

OK, I think I found the problem, but I don't know how to fix it: it appears to be the case, that if you make any calls to pTriAPI->SpriteTexture, any subsequent calls to gEngfuncs.pfnDrawCharacter cause garbled text.
I've almost worked around this problem fully, by rendering all my text before any tris, but I can't think of a way to fix the NS pop-up menus, as they require text to be drawn on top of images. I'm guessing this is going to cause problems for other mods also. Is there any way to "unset" a texture, or somehow trick HL into forgetting about setting this texture?
Anyone else figured out anything here?

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Is there any documentation on how fonts have changed, and font usage for mods under Steam? Most of the fonts throughout NS are now corrupted, and the community is hard at work trying to fix the problem. If there is any documentation available, or if anyone wants to volunteer some information, that would be fantastic.
