Presumably they can answer my question, because one of them removed the
function and knows why it was done. I expect that the answer is that
returning a pass-by-reference copy constructed Vector is much slower
then normalizing the Vector in place, and they wanted to force
programmers to use the faster function by removing the old one. Or, if
they have another explination that works, I'd be happy too. Nobody on
this list has answered the "why" part of my question, they've just given
me cruft that I already know.
