I did add the gravity gun materials into Source SDK Base for this beta.
If you include 'sourcetest' in your search paths section of the
gameinfo.txt you can get it without needing to mount a GCF or copy those
sprite materials over.

Make sure that you put 'sourcetest' in the search paths before 'hl2'.
The reason that this problem existed in the first place is that the
'hl2' versions of those sprite materials don't work well with the newer
version of the Source engine. New projects built with the 'Create a Mod'
wizard include 'sourcetest' in the correctp part of the search path now.

I'll add the MOTD one. I meant to do it at the same time I added the
Gravity Gun materials and it slipped my mind!

You mean when you create it and under appid 215 textures are missing?
It's a simple fix, just shove the GCF mounting code in there :)
