seeing 'shaderapi' in there, and the fact that my resolution isn't 4:3 and i
can run all the tools perfectly fine myself, it sounds like this is a driver
issue with your card, probably at initialization of the viewport in hlmv (or
face poser).

it doesn't matter what resolution I use, the tools work fine.  Somethings
not right on your system. I suggest you try a) upgrading your video drivers
b) make sure that directx is updated.. c) i'm not sure.

what video card do you have, for one thing?
