In that case, he is either lying, or has somehow gotten the same checksum as another cheat by accident.
Remember that we do NOT know definitively how VAC works, and can only ASSUME it's using checksums, and is not detecting any kind of core system hooks or anything like that... The only reason that checksums come to mind is that it's pretty definitive cheat detection, but not 100% definitive depending on what they're using.
