Gamespy does show you the ip and port. What a lot of people get lost on with these more inexpensive nat routers is that there's rarely loopback on all ports. When I had the linksys, some firmwares would allow me to type in my external or lan ip to join and some would only let me connect via lan ip(no loopback on the router for udp port 27015). In the case that there is no loopback, your server will not show up by external ip when you refresh gamespy or the built in halflife browser. Everyone on the outside will see it fine though.

How are they trying to connect? GameSpy, GSA, Kali ,and the miserable thing built into Half-Life all work for my players. My ip on my server is 10.0.0.2, but people on the internet can connect just fine. Kali, for example, tells me that my ip port is 10.0.0.2:27015, and that my ip address is 63.230.175.147:27015. Gamespy shows the correct external address, and likewise lets people connect just fine. When you look at your server from the outside, what ip port and address does it show? Kali is best to use to look for that info as it gives you both, Gamespy doesn't seem to give you the ip port. But with gamespy, you can manually add the server (not sure if Kali does that). Will either Kali or GameSpy show your server without manually adding it? ----- Original Message ----- From: "pakmann" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2001 1:17 AM Subject: Set the IP the Server should use > > Hi, > > I have a problem setting up my server.
