Linux "can" be installed with any windows version. However, if you are not familiar with Linux, you may want to not attempt to put it on your main machine, especially if it is your only machine. I would recommend doing a complete backup of your system. Also, you'll need to have an extra hard drive, or be able to partition your current hard drive.
