I run a dual xeon box and it has ht........and a xeon is a xeon. This
link is from intel's website, imagine that I found some information on a
chipset I'm wondering about off the internet!(Note the sarcasim)And from
the makers website.Wow this internet thing is great!!

Please do some research before posting information, because obviously you
know nothing about it.Unless you are using a pre-2002 Xeon.On Feburary
25,2002 intel released the Xeon Processor with HT.The "Prestonia"
Xeon.Hyper-Threading is another name for SMT (Symmetric
Multi-Threading), whereby a single CPU core is designed to execute more
than one code stream (thread) in parallel. The theory is that in any
given code stream there are always on-chip logic units that go unused
from time to time. By implementing Hyper-Threading, the CPU would be
able to schedule a second thread to use the leftover logic units,
thereby increasing performance. The link above states:

That the 2.8-3.6ghz xeon with a 1MB L2 cache have HT.
That the 2.0-3.06ghz xeon with a 2MB or 1MB cache have HT.
That the 1.8-3.0ghz xeon with a 512k cache have HT.(Beginning of the
"Prestonia"2/25/02)
But the 1.4-2.0ghz xeon with 256k cache don't.(Note these came out
before HT was offered)

Dave I know peeps here will hate me for continuing on with this but this is
a forum for issues like this and I must make a point.
A Dual Xeon (which is a Pentium 3) does not have HT. That's a Pentium 4
thingy.
