I did exactly the same. I played only TFC, and ran a TFC server. Now I have absolutely ZERO interest in either. Since the switch to Steam I have not found a single server without massive cheating, and I filter out all of the non-"secure" servers! VAC is a complete and total failure, and no doubt the people at Valve are having emergency meetings every day to find a solution. I'm just waiting around to see if they really are incompetent boobs, or will redeem themselves and once again make the Half-Life mods the best games ever.
