That happened to me in HL2 preloading phase 4 or 5, I can't precise.
For more than 3 days I had the same error over and over, and that process
went to 45-55% cpu.
Since HL2 has become available to purchase through steam it just started
preloading fine. I don't know what was the cause of it. I tried deleting
ClientRegistry.blob, tried to preload on different machines with different
steam accounts, and I got the same error over and over.
One of the errors I got in the process was that I didn't have enough disk
space to preload, and I had 5 gigs free on that partition.
Now it's preloading phase 6 just fine.

Anyone got any ideas on this I've tried deleting:
1. ClientRegistry.blob
2. The config dir
Neither have any effect so Im still unable to continue downloading
the HalfLife2 preload.

I just checked the status of my halflife2 preload and it was sat
at 69% ( waiting for the latest chunk). With the window open
I managed to mistakenly click "Pause" now it doesn't matter
how many times I click "Continue" nothing happens it still
sits with "Continue" and doesn't change back to "Pause".

How do I get this to working again?
