Yeah I did see that Tony...I also saw this.

"There are a number of other things we're working on at Valve right now that
we aren't quite ready to talk about, but our resolution for the new year is
to keep the community more informed about what's ahead."

Not quite ready to talk about. I bet somewhere in that vagueness they are
referring to the new anti-cheat system. Probably got delayed. But at least
they are keeping us informed of what updates are happening for the month. I
think this is a great idea they are finally implementing.

That is one great new years resolution they came up with. I salute their
decision / goal to keep the public informed.

Far as the bots / vac comment. That is two separate departments. I am sure
that the VAC development team is hard at work, just the bots programmers
were finished their end of the programming for the bots, so it was released
first.

Far as don't expect anything from them. And the blah about their customers
and them not caring. I had a friend who had a recent issue and we got almost
an immediate response from Valve when they were contacted directly (within
2-3 hours). Possibly they aren't going to tip us off anymore about the new
ac until it is released or like a week prior to it. However, that does not
mean they aren't making it. I think Nick may not be there anymore. I
remember seeing his name on the employees page, but if you go there now he
is not listed. Either he is being locked up until vac2 is released or they
have replaced him. Who knows, his mail isn't bouncing off their mail server,
so maybe he does still work there (or the IT guy forgot to remove his email
account off the mail server). Either way, they do reply to emails. However,
when it comes to anticheat they rarely will give out any info. They never
know who is trying to find out what and if that person is legitimate or not.
Or if that person is forwarding info to the cheat designers. Either way,
down the road I am sure we will be looking back on these emails, and our
thoughts about Valve and the VAC system update and will laugh, cause we all
sound like expectant mothers. 8)

To the guy who referred to bf2, I bet you will still be playing cs when it
is released. But hey, many others have stated they'd quit hlds and cs for
other games too. But they are still around...
