I really doubt running the server from a network share would impact
performance, when its loaded up it would be in the servers memory/RAM
regardless of where it was ran from.

The only change you may notice is on map change as new files are accessed
etc, although you probably would not even notice a differenc on a 10/100Mbps
network share either.
