Alexander,

While I agree with your request to continue top-posting, I must say I do not
agree with your reasoning behind it. Please note that sarcasm is being
turned on now:

It is a shame, nay an injustice that Valve dare offer this list as a free
service! It is far beyond resonable they make this list available to you
with commentary, responses to questions, notifications, let alone any
presence from an employee such as Mr. Reynolds (et al.) without requiring
that you pay some kind of fee! Damn them for not keeping posts "on-topic"
and filtered for content, and enforcing bottom posting!

Sarcasm off...

Regards,

Bud Ingram

If the list actually looked like a real list, maybe people would start
doing
it the proper way?
Now I think at least 1/4 would have been filtered if anyone was actually
moderating this list.

What humans do best is adapt. You blend in.
Most of us are monkeys.. either you like it or not.. we learn and do what
others do...
How many of the members of this list do you think have been a member of a
proper list before?
How many of "us" would read the rules if there was any, when no one is
enforcing them?
And those who _do_ try to enforce them are mostly YELLING and talking
impolite....
Go figure....

PS: Top posting makes it faster for us to get rid of trash...
Keep the top posting going as long as we have to do the filtering our
selves!

Alex

I'm not going to say that I know all of the standards of mailing lists but
as long as people snip the quote to exactly what they are talking about I
don't think it matters where the text it. To be honest, now I have gmail
which does mailing lists properly so I've given up caring.

One thing that I did find funny is that I speed read that rubbish at the
top
because it was one paragraph and capitals but I read ironchiefs every word
because he made it readable, something that few people seem to be able to
do.

that's funny, always been 'reply at top with quote under' as long as I
can remember, which is well over 12 years now. Makes it much faster to
read. You read from the top down, so, new info at the top, with
reference material under it if you need it for context.
