        All it takes is a WAN game instead of LAN and an opponent.
Once you hit pings above 100 things get really strange from a
client perspective, and even below that things are somewhat odd.

        Check out the steampowered forums if you want to see what the
players are complaining about.  Most times it's something we as
admins can't address, but if you want to keep your customers happy
it makes sense to pay attention to their complaints.

        BTW: the work-around for stuck players on DoD:S is to go
prone and crawl away from each other.  The work-around for
emptying a magazine-full of automatic fire into a player at
point-blank range and have him one-shot you with a rabbit's foot
is to type quit in the console and find a DoD 1.3 server.
I'm hoping there's an alternative solution in the works soon.
