Media player and srcfpsbooster both set Windows high resolution timer precision to lowest possible value which is about 2ms. I wrote my own simple utility which accept timer precision as a parameter. Here is it - http://public.otstrel.ru/otstrel/fpsbooster.zip Should you prefer to build your own copy from sources please let me know, I'll mail it to you. (No rocket science by the way, just single system function call). Starting this utility with parameter about 10 I saw server FPS to stay around 124 with CPU load reflecting this value. Should you find this utility helpful please report your tests results to this list.

Anyone succeeded in getting their windows box to do something other than 64 fps or 512 fps. I read this article about changing the timing but i have not had any success it doesn't seem to matter. http://www.sysinternals.com/Information/bootini.html /TIMERES seems to not have any effects it does show up in registry as loaded upon reboot but its still 64 or 512. I would like to see 128 or 196 etc. Thanks dex _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
