The install program did that for me too. I followed the manual install and got it working. You'll probably need to do the same thing.

I installed from the HldsUpdateTool.exe, which I downloaded from Steam. So, after looking on the "Amx Mod X" wiki I am even more confused. As the wiki defines the various options as follows: You have an option of five different installation types. These are: Steam Dedicated Server - a server started from your Steam Dedicated Server menu Steam Listen Server - a listen server whereby your client is the server Standalone Server - a local server not started from the steam menu (for example: C:\HLServer) Select mod directory - manual installation selection FTP - your server must be accessed through FTP At the risk of trashing my configuration, I went ahead and selected "Steam Dedicated Server" and then I got this error message: You have to run Dedicated Server once before installing AMX Mod X! Well, I can tell you I run the server 7/24 so I must be missing something... Any thougths appreciated.
