i had forgotten that it could be done that way. that's probably because i've been using linux so long. but i remember that when i did try it that way (not that i'm trying to justify my mistake, far from it) that windows decided that it couldn't resolve the dns servers even if i manually inserested them. which let me to dd-wrt and the dchp method i use. interesting tho that if i do it in the equivalent way in linux it works like a charm. That's just another illustration of why windows sucks.
FYI, for those wondering why a linux user is on a windows list. The reason i'm on this list is my server is remotely hosted on a windows box.
