Alfred, The point of making an initial copy of the cstrike_beta folder, is to avoid the steam client re-downloading all the cstrike files..
or, if the files don't exist in the ctsrike_beta folder, does the server default to use the missing files from the cstrike/ folder? Apologies if my suggestion was incorrect.. I had the best interests in mind.. and it seemed to work ok for me..
