Chris, That's because IE7 is planned for distribution via Automatic Update in November 1st. It was released as a separate download previously so there wouldn't be a sudden rush in November.

I still have IE6 installed (it's not my primary browser anyways). If IE7 is getting installed on people's machine, it means they are manually going out and installing it.
