That *never* happens.

:)

You'll find that's a once-a-month thing (I think)

Did you try to intall from scratch into a different and empty

directory?

Or
wipe your current directory of *everything* but hldsupdatetool.exe,

and

try
again? And reboot...might as well recycle router and modem, etc.

while

you

are at it. Power off and power on, not just reboot. I had a really

weird

problem with my laptop that required a power cycle to fix,
rebooting/resetting did not work.

That particular content server looks okay but I have restarted it

for

good measure. We have serveral gbits/sec available for The Ship

right

now so in general downloading the server (or client) should be

easy.

Well, I've used a neat program called TCP view to see the status

in

real-time.

68.142.100.78 is the IP I'm connecting to. No reverse DNS on it

so

I

can't
tell really who it belongs to, but it's on the "Limelight

Network"

in

Arizona. This is the same one it always connects to, it

establishes

the
connection but goes no further.

Time for a reboot maybe? :)

Alfred, any help here?

You can use netstat to find out the IP of the content server

you

are

connecting to - look for connections to port 27030 when trying

to

update, but I'm not sure of the what you can to do resolve

this

-

its not something I've come across before.

Alright, I lied last night, I deleted the blob and it

downloaded

*most* of the files, but unfortunately when it gets to this

point

it halts.

Checking/Installing 'The Ship Dedicated Server' version 20
Verifying: .\bin\adminserver.dll
Verifying: .\bin\bdadclient.dll
Verifying: .\bin\datacache.dll
Verifying: .\bin\datamodel.dll
Verifying: .\bin\dedicated.dll
Downloading: .\bin\dedicated.dll

I left it running overnight and it hasn't changed since. I

tried

deleting the blobs and msi and still nothing, stops at the

same

point with a 256kb file ( dedicated.dll) sitting in my

directory...

Just checked again and it finished the dedicated.dll and

downloaded

one more file, but then hung again during the download with a

64kb

seralizers.dll. Trying again it now gets stuck at

Checking/Installing 'The Ship Common' version 16

Trying 3 more times I was finally able to get verifying again,
again it downloaded one more file partially and completed the
previous one. I have a feeling this is going to take all day.

Any

way to find out which content server I'm connecting to?
