The Windows webserver didn't note the connect attempts for the
models, but did for all other files. Wiping the test client box of Steam,
a quick run through the registry to verify, and a re-install has it
downloading correctly. Adding the MIME types on a Windows webserver was
definately at the heart of it, but not the sole problem.
But thanks for all the help -- I'm convinced the learning
curve is steeper when one's forgotten something than when doing
it for the first time. Either that or I'm getting older and slower.
