Valve used Punkbuster when they didnt have the resources and time to make VAC
which was a long time ago and probably wont go back. They want VAC because it
is their own product and can be used on every mod, game, etc that is supported
by Valve and to be used as an authentication system. There are unnoticeable
updates to it on occasion that they dont tell use about but they arent fixing
the hacks people are selling, they are taking care of pirated games and other
stuff.
