That is not my line of reasoning at all. Could you please point out where I addressed the length of bans?
I merely said that cross-game banning would be a greater deterrent than single game banning. If it was technically feasible, I could fully support a system that allowed for bans to be time-limited dependent on mitigating factors like the age of the person when he first cheated. Additionally, your analogies are appeals to emotion as there is little similarity between cheating and being banned in a video game and taking away someones freedom to move (prison). If we're going to use such analogies yours still don't hold. Since we're talking about cross-domain and not length of punishment, a more appropriate analogy would be this: How much of a deterrent would prison be if you could commit a crime and then go to the neighboring town and not have to worry about prison time?
