I've been running a 32 slot CTF server (+ an unused/empty natural-selection server) in acceptable cpu-usage-ranges (60-80%) on this hardware: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (3.0 ghz) 8Gb DDR2-800 RAM Debian Squeeze Stock fps/rates, 100Hz default kernel
