Hey guys,

I'm not certain if this is the right channel to be asking for this kind of
support. If it isn't, please, forgive me and kindly direct me to a more
suitable place to ask for help.

I have a 28 slot server operating on a rented Windows machine that has been
presenting an awful "hiccup" problem for a while now. I've asked the host
company helpdesk crue for answers and the only one i got is that the srcds
process is taking less than 50% of a CPU core so that shouldn't be the
bottleneck. They've blamed the constant updates for the issues.

The problem can be more easily understood by watching these two videos (i've
uploaded on HD, so you can see the net_graph).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtiErV1j5Hs&hd=1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArWe_ODu2-Y&hd=1

As you can see by the net_graph, the "hiccup" reflects directly in the "sv"
dropping pretty low on the net graph, as well as the "var" spiking up to
14~15.

The "hiccup" can be very disturbing since it looks mostly as if your model
has bumped into a cloaked spy.

I'm not sure if it matters at all, but these are the rates we're using:

//Server Rates
> sv_minrate 30000
> sv_maxrate 60000
> sv_minupdaterate 33
> sv_maxupdaterate 66
> sv_mincmdrate 33
> sv_maxcmdrate 66
>

If there's any information that can be handy in solving this issue, just let
me know and i'll gather them up. We're experiencing these for months now and
every single attempt to make it better failed miserably. We're so frustrated
that we're almost giving up on hosting and playing. :(

Thanks in advance,

Pilger
