I talked to Mr. Dunn about this problem since May and haven't heard from him since.
The problem happens every Steam outage which occurs quite frequently. There was an outage 1 hour ago. Even if your server manages to reconnect to the Steam master list by luck, it will not log back into quickplay, likely killing off many servers.
